What is financial freedom?Read Now
Did you have fun celebrating the 4th of July? We sure did! What are some of the holiday traditions of your family? Do you pig out on burgers and brats? Do you light up the night sky with fireworks?
My seven-year-old asked yesterday why we use fireworks to celebrate our freedom. What a great question! It got me thinking about what freedom is and why we enjoy it so much here in the great U.S. of A.
Freedom is a “state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty; exemption from slavery, servitude, or confinement.”
Throughout July, we’ll be taking a look at what freedom looks like in the area of money. Let’s face it, if we have any kind of debt, we are under the power and control of whoever we owe money to. Whether it is the bank, credit card companies, or our family, servitude via debt is no fun. It stresses us out. It hinders our mental health and hurts our relationships. What would you do without any debt payments?
Is it possible to be financially free? Yes!
If you are struggling with anything, you must know that you aren’t alone. You must also know that there is help!
As a Christian, I firmly believe that genuine freedom is found only in Christ. If you’d like to know more about this freedom, click here.
